Number Three

Nothing has more strength than dire necessity.

This is a camera mount.

This is a bit newer than the mount in this story, but you get the picture.

REALLY heavy.

REALLY expensive.

Two camera mounts were sitting on a box. Stop me if you’ve heard this one before.  I needed to get to the box, so the DM gave me a hand lifting the mounts off.  Job completed, we began to put the mounts back on the box, but due to the precarious positioning of the mounts, when we lifted one, the other began to fall.  (Remember, REALLY heavy).  In a moment of sheer desperation, and reflex, I reached out, and grabbed the mount and caught it.  In. My. Left. Hand.

The fear of wrecking something tens of thousands of dollars is a very powerful motivator.   And that’s why it’s Number Three.
